About the Xerox AltaLink B8145
A 45-ppm black-and-white ledger-size multifunction printer with single-pass duplex scanning, for busy offices with mostly monochrome output. It prints at up to 45 ppm (pages per minute) in black and white, on paper up to 12" × 18" (SRA3). Functions: Print, Copy, Scan, Fax. The manufacturer rates its maximum monthly duty cycle at 200,000 pages — a ceiling, not a target, so choose a model whose everyday volume sits well below it.
Features
- 45 ppm black and white (B8155 and B8170: 55 and 72 ppm)
- Single-pass duplex document feeder
- Optional booklet maker and office finisher
- Smart proximity sensor wakes the device
- FIPS 140-3 encrypted storage
Reading the specs: ppm means pages per minute; B&W means black and white. The maximum monthly duty cycle is the most pages a device is built to handle in a peak month — it is not a recommended workload. The recommended monthly print volume, where the manufacturer publishes one, is the better guide to everyday use.
